Each phase comes with an increasing level of detail and commitment to your project. At the beginning of each phase we set the direction, ensure you understand what you are committing to, then take the steps required to develop your ideas and dreams into a reality.
foundation
The best architecture comes out of the best relationships. We get to know you, your living situation, needs, budget considerations and vision.
We also get to know your site, and begin to calibrate your dream against the reality it presents - and your budget.
In this phase: An initial meeting / brief development / a fee proposal and acceptance / Pre-Design.
concept
An exciting phase of any project; this is when our collaborative ideas start to give expression to your brief and vision.
We start with a design idea - a beginning. Once you are happy we’ve struck the right conceptual solution, we develop it to the point required for a cost estimate.
With you, we consider the estimate and assess the steps to make sure your dream is deliverable.
In this phase: Concept Design / QS documentation / and cost evaluation.
development
We’ll start to develop the concept that meets your brief, gets you excited and fits your budget.
Our thinking will become focussed on your building’s construction, this is when other consultants may be brought in.
The quality of the design is constantly improving. The interior spaces are developed. It gets more real.
In this phase: Preliminary Design (only if a Resource Consent is required) / Developed Design.
detail
This is the most intensive phase of work for us. We consider every detail of every aspect of the design and bring together all the ideas discussed and decisions made - preparing for the reality of your construction.
We document every design detail in preparation to achieve accurate pricing, lodge your application for Building Consent and brief your construction contractor.
In this phase: Detailed Design / Building Consent application
Construction
This is when your dream, and our design becomes real.
Our principle that the best projects evolve out of the best relationships between the client, the contractor and the architect is put into practice.
We work hard to support the smooth running of your project on site, because building is a team enterprise. We love working with great contractors who deliver top results.
